It’s that simple.
How Do Weight Loss Injections Work?
Semaglutide is the magic in our weight loss injections at IV Drips. Semaglutide is a medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is a type of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA), which means it works by stimulating the GLP-1 receptors in the body to increase insulin secretion, reduce glucagon secretion, and slow down gastric emptying. This helps to lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
However, in addition to its use in diabetes treatment, semaglutide has now been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of obesity. It is administered as a subcutaneous injection once a week, and has been shown to lead to significant weight loss in clinical trials. In fact, in clinical trials, Semaglutide helped most recipients lose 10% of their body weight. More than half of them reduced their weight by 15%, which is the amount that most healthcare professionals say can help reduce the risk for future chronic illnesses.
Semaglutide is marketed under the brand name Ozempic for diabetes treatment, and under the brand name Wegovy for obesity treatment. It is a prescription medication that our clinic can prescribe to Englewood and Tenafly patients under the guidance and supervision of one of our healthcare professionals.

Once approved, your Semaglutide B12 prescription will be filled along with a scheduled one-on-one Zoom appointment to teach and support you in successfully performing your self injections (initial program). At the end of the first month you will be automatically enrolled in the monthly program. You can expect to chat with us each month to discuss progress, address your concerns and refill your semaglutide prescription so that you can successfully continue your weight loss journey. It is common for patients to increase their dosage after their initial injections.
Our medical team will go over the program with you and see if you are a good fit! We will discuss the program’s benefits and address any questions you may have!
